Safety in a lift is mostly maintenance discipline. This is the checklist we hand to facility teams.
Monthly
Test the alarm and intercom from inside the car. Check that emergency lighting comes on. Confirm the door reopening device stops on an obstruction.
Quarterly
Check levelling accuracy at every floor, the condition of the door sills, and that the machine room stays locked and clear.
Annually
A full load and brake test by a licensed engineer, with a signed report kept on site.
